Comfrey Compound Salve
Natural First Aid
Herbal Skin Care to Support Natural Healing of Minor Skin Abrasions*
Preserves Skin Integrity
Herbal Salve in an organic olive oil and beeswax base
Description of Formula
The Comfrey salve is a similar formula to Dr Christopher's Bone Flesh and Cartilage salve. It supports the healing of connective tissue injury including bruises and sprains as well as irritated inflamed skin from bites or other inflammatory conditions such as dermatitis.
The Comfrey Salve has demulcent healing and soothing properties (from Comfrey, Mullein and Marshmallow) and also has anti-fungal properties (from Black Walnut).
The topical use of Lobelia in Comfrey Compound Salve, helps to reduce spasm; the St John's Wort and Skullcap are anti-inflammatory to the nerve supply to the skin.
The Comfrey Salve is preferred when inflammation and soft tissue injury and bruising are the main concern and is not recommended for use on open wounds or extensively broken skin. For bacterial or fungal infections, consider Plantain Goldenseal Salve.
This product is not generally recommended for burns even though St John's Wort oil can be used for minor burns.
