Description of Formula
Everyone wants to protect and even optimize his or her vision. The eyes undergo numerous challenges, however, that threaten optimal vision. Most people are familiar with constant strain of use. Bilberry is rich in anthocyanosides, flavonoids, oligomeric proanthocyanidins and other phytochemicals that promote blood vessel integrity and enhance microcirculation, particularly to the eyes. Bilberry also helps to maintain ocular health by protecting the eyes from the damaging effects of environmental stressors. Likewise, this fruit, offers potent antioxidant protection in the retina, which can be susceptible to oxidative damage over time.*
Grape seed extract offers a potent source of proanthocyanidins, powerful antioxidants with the unique ability to cross the blood-brain barrier, offering optimal protection to the brain and eyes from destructive elements in the environment. Grape seed proanthocyanidins help to maintain the structure and function of retinal tissue by supporting healthy circulation, maintaining the integrity of blood vessels around the eye structure, and reducing eye strain that is associated with the normal aging process.*
Lutein is a carotenoid related to beta-carotene. Large studies have suggested that lutein is a protective antioxidant for the eyes. Lutein is best absorbed when taken with a fatty meal.*
Astaxanthin is another carotenoid. It acts as an antioxidant in the retina, similar to lutein.*
